Moran is "campaign shouting like a southern diplomat" in this 1/5/06 photo by rev_bri of a Town Hall meeting on Iraq.

Moran speaks of "terrible violence" in Lebanon, ignores Israeli deaths.

The "terrible violence" of which Moran speaks is not just in Lebanon.

Foreign Policy
So far 19 Israeli civilians, including four Israeli Arabs, have died in the shelling and rocketing of Israel by Hezbollah. 200,000 Israelis have fled their homes.

Perhaps Jim Moran doesn't consider the violence in Israel to be terrible, but I do. Moran might want to consider adding the words "and in Israel" next time he talks about the terrible violence in Lebanon.

From the 7/27/06 Connection newspapers:

U.S. Presence in Iraq Fans Flames
The U.S. is now spending $2 billion a week in Iraq.
    By Congressman Jim Moran
    July 27, 2006

Is there any doubt that the terrible violence we are now seeing in Lebanon is not connected at least tangentially to our involvement in the deteriorating events in Iraq and the United States diminished standing?

Beats me. I don't know what a tangential connection is, or how to determine if one exists.

Isn't everything tangentially related to everything else? Supposedly if a butterfly flaps its wings in Norway it can rain in Florida three weeks later.

The local newspapers that cover the 8th have had nothing about any other candidates but Moran and Webb.

Why doesn't Goodbyejim cover the opening of Moran's office in Inaccessible Old Town today (4-7 PM)? Franconia was too middle class for Moran. If I lived in Kingstowne I would be really PO'd that I'd have to drive or spend 4 hours taking a bus to visit Moran's new district office.
